This keyboard was sold in Germany by ISS, Individual Software Service, better known as Jürgen Schumpich GmbH, the German distributor for Sinclair computers.
It had exactly 40 keys as the ZX81 and consisted of a plastic case, metal bottom plate and a PCB with moving key tops. The keys had no individual switches but short-circuited carbon contacts on the PCB. The case had four rows cut out for the four key rows. This way they could print some of the keywords on the case.
The keyboard was attached to the keyboard connectors of the ZX81, so you had to open your computer and unplug the original keyboard membrane.
I can't determine the real manufacturer. "miamatic carbon systems" seems to be the manufacturer of the printed circuit board, but i doubt that they manufactured the whole keyboard. There is also a printing on the PCB saying "DS Keyboard". ISS called it the "Standard Moving Keyboard" as opposed to the "Super Moving Keyboard" in the same catalogue. The version advertised in the catalogue is not exactly the same as the one i have. It has no hand rest and seemingly no printing on the case, which makes me believe that it's an early 'prototype' version.
The PCB is single-sided and the required bridges at wire crossings seem to be manufactured with some kind of carbon – probably the same material as supposedly used for the key contacts.
