Printers for the ZX81 were typically attached to the expansion bus. Sinclair designed the archetype of those printers with the wacky 3 inch paper roll and 256 pixel screen wide spark eroding printer, supported by the Basic commands LLIST and LPRINT. These printers were compatible with all ZX80 based computers which used the same extension bus, e.g. ZX80, ZX81, TS1000, TS1500 or TK85.
Though the ZX Spectrum had a modified and wider extension bus, most printers for the ZX81 could also be attached to the ZX Spectrum and compatible machines.
